A Spicy Thanksgiving

Alright Spicy Wifey's we want to prepare a Thanksgiving feast that is going to have everyone fighting for leftovers! Here are a few recipes you may want to try but whatever you cook just be sure to make it GOOD!


Pan Seared Turkey Chops (Recipe courtesy of Turn up the heat with G.Garvin)
Ingredients
6 turkey chops (approximately 6–8 ounces)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup white wineProcedure

Directions:
1. Pre-heat sauté pan and coat with olive oil.
2. Rinse turkey chops.
3. Season with soul food seasoning mixture. Pat seasoning into meat to seal in flavor.
4. Place chops into hot pan with olive oil. Sear for 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. 5. Remove chops from pan. Lay on paper towel to soak up excess oil.
6. Add white wine to remaining juices in pan. Bring sauce to a slight simmer.
7. To serve, place chops on plate. Drizzle sauce over chops.


Cornbread Stuffing with Apples and Sausage (Recipe courtesy of The Neelys)
Ingredients


1 pound Italian sausage, casing removed
1 medium onions, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and chopped coarsely
1 teaspoon freshly minced thyme leaves
1 teaspoon freshly chopped sage leaves
1/2 cup bourbon
1 1/4 pounds cubed and dried cornbread stuffing, store-bought
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
2 cups turkey or low-sodium chicken stock
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in 12-inch skillet.
Cook sausage for 5 to 7 minutes until browned. Add onions and celery and saute until softened. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Mix in apples, thyme and sage and saute for another 2 minutes. Add bourbon. *Cook's Note: When adding alcohol take pan off flame. Allow to simmer until bourbon is almost evaporated; 1 to 2 minutes.
In a large bowl, add cornbread stuffing, parsley, chicken stock, eggs and pecans. Mix well. Mix in vegetable mixture to bowl. Combine and stir well together. Add to a large casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes.

Over-the-Rainbow Macaroni and Cheese (Recipe courtesy of Patti LaBelle)Ingredients:Serves 4 to 6
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 pound elbow macaroni
8 tablespoons (1 stick) plus 1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Muenster cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mild Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack
2 cups half-and-half
1 cup (8 ounces) Velveeta , cut into small cubes
2 large eggs , lightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter a deep 2 1/2-quart casserole.Bring the large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the oil, then the elbow macaroni, and cook until the macaroni is just tender, about 7 minutes. Do not overcook. Drain well. Return to the cooking pot.In a small saucepan, melt eight tablespoons of the butter. Stir into the macaroni. In a large bowl, mix the Muenster, mild and sharp Cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheeses. To the macaroni, add the half-and-half, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese, the cubed Velveeta, and the eggs. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to the buttered casserole. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and dot with the remaining one tablespoon of butter.Bake until it's bubbling around the edges, about 35 minutes. Serve hot.

Thanks to Divas Inc. and all of the ladies that came out to Femme Fatale Fitness! We had a so much fun and worked our stiletto heels off! It was a work out I will never forget and I am planning on coming back! Ladies if you missed it Spicy Wifey will be returning so stay tuned for the details!

It's Holiday Time!

The holiday's are fastly approaching, so you know what comes with that? POTLUCKS it's the office, neighborhood, or family party or get together where you are asked to bring a dish. As a Spicy Wifey whatever you bring has to be a hit! You want everyone asking for the recipe or how can they get their hands on more!

So lets share our best potluck recipes and lets make these potlucks SPICY!

Here's one that was a hit at several of my office parties:

German Chocolate OOey-GOOey Butter Cake (a Paula Deens' fav)
1 (18.25oz) box German choc cake mix
1 c. butter melted and divided
1 large egg
1 (8oz) pkg. softened cream cheese
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (16oz) box confectioners sugar
1 c. sweetened flaked coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350......Lightly grease a 13X9X2 " baking pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1/2 c. melted butter, and egg. Bet at low speed with a elec. mixer until combined. Press evenly into bottom of prepared pan;set aside. In a large bowl, bet cream cheese at med. speed with an elec. mixer until creamy. Bet in eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat in confectioners sugar until smooth. Add remaining melted butter.Beating at low speed until combined. Stir in coconut and pecans. Pour over cake mix layer.Spreading evenly. Bake for 45 mins ( the center should remain slightly gooey). Remove from oven; let cool completely before cutting into squares.
